You Choose your race: 1 or 2 climbs and ski descents. Everyone starts together under the bridge and climbs 1,350 feet to near the towers at the summit. Double the fun and do it again. Much of the course is on Black Mountain of Maine backcountry ski terrain.
Equipment
AT Bindings, Split boards, Telemark gear all good.
Snowshoes, cross country ski gear no good.
Helmets are required,
Backpacks are not required, but storing skins, water, clothing may be good reasons for you to bring one
No gear or food can be added or discarded at any point in the race.
Race Rules
You will be an accompanying race to a licensed USSMA race and will follow all rules described on the USSMA Points Race page here and at ussma.org. There is a mandatory race briefing on the morning of the race.
Winterfest Weekend at Black Mountain of Maine. This is going to be a fun event to participate in.. Meet others, challenge yourself and race on a USSMA course.. $45 or $10/season pass holders pre-register or $50/$15 morning of race. Resort lift ticket included with registration. Challenge yourself, learn from others and most of all have a good time at our community owned ski mountain
